Emma wins gold in national competition

Our Owner, Emma Rogers won gold in the final of a prestigious national competition last weekend (November 17, 2012).

Twenty-year-old Emma, from Nyland, Cheddar, became a gold medallist in the WorldSkills UK Beauty Therapy competition at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham on November 17.

Emma said: “I am absolutely thrilled to have won the WorldSkills UK Beauty Therapy category.

“I worked really hard in the run up to the final and I’m so pleased it’s paid off. During the competition I had to perform a range of beauty treatments, including a full body massage and a microdermabrasion facial.

“I have won a place in the UK WorldSkills squad and will now be training to compete in the international competition in Leipzig, Germany in 2013.”

WorldSkills UK rewards talent and drives up levels of expertise in apprenticeships, skills and further education.

It aims to find the entrants with the best vocational skills from people in employment, training and education.

Emma was trained by Hayley Wright, Beauty Assessor and Competition Trainer at Weston College, who represented the UK squad in London in 2011.
